For those of you that have followed our story on this blog for the past year, you’ll already know that we held nothing back. We feel that our story is important for others to hear. Especially families that struggle to start a family of their own, parents who sit long hours by the bedside of their sick children and moms and dads that have to say good-bye to their little ones.
Today our story was told to a wider audience by someone who obviously cares about the job she does and the people she meets. Reporter Su-Ling Goh shared our story on Global News Edmonton tonight. I can’t imagine how difficult it is to tell such a story in only four minutes but she did an amazing job.
Laurina and I sat down with Alex to watch our story unfold on TV. It wasn’t easy. But we know that a child or two is getting an extra hug tonight. A baby somewhere is being held just a bit tighter. A parent’s touch got just a bit softer. If hearing about our boys means that a child is cherished just a little bit more – how could we not share our story? We’re so proud of both our boys.
It was funny to watch Alex watch us on television. As soon as either of us would start speaking – he’d immediately look at the TV. You could tell he knew who that was on the big box. He was especially intrigued to see and hear himself.
Thank you again to Su-Ling Goh and Global Edmonton for thinking that our story is worthy enough to share. We were touched.
For those of you that missed it, were unable to watch it or want to see it again, I have uploaded a copy to YouTube. You can watch it at the following link:
