Welcome to the Panas Family blog. This is more than a story about the day to day trials and tribulations of your average family. This is the story about two little boys who were loved long before they were ever conceived. This is the story if their early entry into this world at only 24 weeks gestation. This is the story of determination, celebration, heartbreak, hope, devastation and joy of life in an NICU. This is a story of thousands of friends, family, colleagues, medical professional and strangers who followed along, prayed, cared and loved boys many would never meet. This is a story of how the love and determination of parents can make the difference. And this is the story of how life goes on . . . down a different road than one you might have planned . . . but it does go on.
This blog is written for all of those families who are experiencing life with sick children in hopes that it can provide some hope. It is written for those who are grieving the loss of their little one. It is written for all of those dads who just need to know that there are other dads that understand what it’s like. It’s written for our family and friends so that they can continue to be part of the life of Alex and join us in the challenges and joys of our family. It’s written to ensure that the life of our Andrew is never forgotten. We write it for Alex . . . so that he will one day know and understand how much he is loved by us and so many others. And we write it so that he will know his brother Andrew.
We invite you to stay awhile and come back often. Drop us a note. Share your story. Or just quietly watch our lives unfold. You are all welcome.
